| Does anyone have ideas or pictures? I have a visual of doing this in my master bedroom. I don't use the closet and do not know where to put a tv since the closet is across from my bed. its a sliding door closet, long and large. I was going to turn it into a library with sitting area but thought a TV/ in my bedroom which is something i normally would not have. |

| Um, since it's a sliding door closet, does that mean you will only be able to watch 1/2 the TV at a time? Or is it a really small TV? Or are you removing the sliding doors? Many years ago my parents made a spare bedroom into a TV room. The best place for their TV (which was one of those big tube ones) was the closet wall, so they just removed the closet doors and set the TV inside. I think my stepfather built some shelving in there too for VCRs & tapes (it was a long time ago!). It worked very well. I have seen lots of ideas for repurposing closets ... google it and you can waste several hours! |

| i really appreciate the time you took to find and post these HOPES. xo that is sweet..... but now i am thinking maybe no TV in the bedroom and turning that closet into a library with a long bench with pillows. but incase i go back to this idea i like that photo a lot |

| I would never recommend giving up closet space in a bedroom, especially in a way that would necessitate ripping out custom cabinets / trim to restore the closet to its interned function prior to listing for sale.... |

| My parents did this to a closet in the downstairs office/guest room. They busted out the extra walls around the closet opening so there was no wasted space in the back corners and finished the edges off, kind of like that reading nook up above. They installed built-ins with drawers and a cabinet to hold the VCR/game consoles/movies/etc spanning the whole length of the opening and hung open shelves up above. The TV just sat on the top of the built-ins. However, there are three bedrooms upstairs and a deep closet right next to the office with rods for hanging storage so eliminating the closet in the office didn't really matter as much. This is the only photo I have, it was during my brother's "gaming" phase and he had all his friends over so excuse the mess! It is normally very tidy |
